2009-2010 IT Academy Students Pass Industry Certification Test

After some grueling review and study, the following students passed the Adobe Certified Associates Industry Certification test for Web Communications using Dreamweaver CS3: Mark Cernov, Parker Duncan, Christopher Graham, Jonathan Mouayly, Anthony Teresi, Mark Yule, Katerine Lehman, Mohammad Chowdhury, Michael Flemming, and Matt Graves.

ECFL.org Site Redesign Competition

Approximately 30 students from the Academy's Web Design 2 & 3 classes were challenged to redesign ECFL.org.  Students had to create a prototype of a redesigned ECFL.org site based on a client's vision.  Students were given the chance to build a relationship with their client, present a rough draft, and obtain feedback as to changes they should make with their prototype.  After Students revised their prototype two finalists were chosen along with five honorable mentions.  The winner will receive a student desk from ECFL and the IT Academy will be given test vouchers for next years Industry Certification tests. Once the winner is selected a design team will be selected to build and publish the new ECFL site.  The winner will be named Lead Designer and take on the role of leading the design team. IT Academy Partners with Microsoft and their Dreamspark™ Program

With the help of Polk County School Board / Workforce Education, the IT Academy at Lakeland High School began a partnership with Microsoft Corporation and joined the Microsoft Dreamspark program.
